what a week...

thank god for sundays its been a busy week and thankfully sunday is a day of rest, well kind of! i still have a few tri related things to do and a few things to plan out for next season but im getting there on my day of rest!
sleepyville is calling me after traveling around all day yesterday and heading out on a celebrations last night(congrats to susan& ger, angies baby sister on baby mia). yesterday i headed upto the midlands to watch one of the kittens race the caroline kearney triathlon. this Ailbhe's first olympic and there was no pressure from myself for her to perfrom, this was purely a race of getting the idea of what the distances are going to be like next season.
she swam a good swim and biked a good bike and ran untill the legs gave out and came home 3rd female overall

a great result on a day remembering a great friend and racing partner of days gone by caroline. its a great race, in a great location remembering a great person.
back to the busy week, darci the new baby in the angie/stevie household is keeping us fit- i thnk she knows i need a good racing season next year!!

tuesday saw me in cong co.mayo where i was helpng davy o loughlin in his new bike shop for the day, a great shop with a huge selection in a great location.
its always good catching up with davy, he helped me out a lot this year, even thoghhe has been supper busy himself,

check out his great bike deals on www.hyperactive-sports.com
wednesday, saw the first round of the hyperactive-sports.com sponsored aquathon series in killaloe, what an evening!!! we had the young juniors from the tri ireland squad whom i coach come down and race, and they did not fail to impress the crowds of spectators watching from the sailfish tent. we also had chris bryan from the high pefromance swim team in limerick who is fresh home from the european swim champs come out and display his class in the open water swims
thursday saw round 2 of the hill climb take place over gallows hill in cratloe check out www.limericktriathlon.com for all the results. i started this event to add some spice to peoples midweek training sessions and so far so good with an average of 25 people per night it is definitly heating up and hopefully next year we can make this event even bigger by adding in a few more hills from different locations

sat, as above i got to see a great race and see a great person achieve a good result
sunday.... it aint over yet but news is just in that davy richardson got third place in the tralee triathlon, as we say in limerick "aboithekid"
im looking forward to seeing how the rest of the hounds get on...
