I have recently been selected for the Irish “elite” development squad.

This will involve training weekends in Dublin with Ireland’s new Elite coach and warm weather training camps. The idea behind this squad is to help all the athletes selected to reach international standard and to help them compete for places in the 2012 Olympics.

 I am currently swimming with the High Performance swimming team as part of the limerick university squad. This involves 12 hours of swimming a week with plenty of early starts. I am in the pool at 5am five mornings a week.

The main goals for me this season is to be selected for the world student games triathlon and cycling teams. The triathlon world student games will take place in Turkey and the cycling world student games will take place in Holland. There will be a number of races both here in Ireland and abroad in order to qualify.

 Also, I am hoping to finish in the top 3 of the national rankings next season (9^th last season). I hope to achieve this by improving my 10km run times off the bike. I am working with Chris Jones the head of high performance triathlon in ireland to achieve this.

As a junior swimmer with the St.Patricks Comprehensive Secondary school swim team, I was part of the Munster and all Ireland I.M & front crawl championship winning relay teams.

Represented Clare 3 times at the Community Games finals in Mosney.

I played for the Clare soccer team in the Kennedy cup, this is an under 15 event that involves teams from all the counties in Ireland.

As part of the Newtown soccer team I won 7 league and cup medals.

As a young and energetic youth I also won medals in badminton, snooker, chess and art.

 My main interests outside of sport are languages and books. With all the training my favourite hobby would have to be sleeping( and spending time with Angela)!

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I am very serious about triathlon. My long term goal is to qualify for the 2012 Olympics. I hope that through dedication and the  proper preparation I can achieve this. Like any good business, you must have a good action plan to achieve your targets.
